Rating agency AM Best is requesting comments from market participants on a draft update to its criteria procedure, “Life Settlement Securitization.”
The current methodology and criteria were published in September 2024. The main proposed update this time is the adoption of the 2015 Valuation Basic Tables for mortality rates.
Other changes in the draft of the criteria include updates to certain adjustment factors, such as the Basic Adjustment Factor, Age-Based Adjustment Factor and Ratings Wear-Off Adjustment.
AM Best does not expect the revisions to impact any published ratings.
